The primary purpose of the provisional answer key is to give candidates an opportunity to raise objections in case they find any discrepancies. After reviewing all submitted objections thoroughly, the National Testing Agency (NTA) publishes the final answer key along with the NEET 2025 result.

Candidates will also be able to download their scanned OMR sheets and recorded responses from the official website using their application number and password or date of birth. A dedicated portal for challenging the answer key or recorded responses is made available for a limited period.

Once the provisional answer key is live, the direct link to access it will be shared here. For full details regarding the NEET 2025 exam process, continue reading this article.

NEET 2025 Official Answer Key: Important Updates

Following the NEET 2025 examination, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will publish the provisional answer key on its official website. This provisional key enables candidates to review their responses and raise objections, if necessary, within a specified time frame. After evaluating all the objections submitted by students, NTA releases the final answer key along with the official results.

To challenge any question, candidates must pay a non-refundable processing fee of ₹200 per question. Similarly, candidates may also submit grading challenges under the same fee structure. NEET 2025 Exam: Tie-Breaking Rules Explained

In cases where two or more candidates score the same marks or percentile in the NEET 2025 examination, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has outlined a detailed tie-breaking policy to determine the order of merit. This ensures fair and transparent ranking in the result list. Here’s how ties will be resolved:

NEET 2025 Tie-Breaking Criteria

  1. Higher Marks in Biology (Botany & Zoology)
Candidates scoring more marks in the Biology section will be ranked higher.

  2. Higher Marks in Chemistry
If a tie still exists, preference will go to the candidate with more marks in Chemistry.

  3. Higher Marks in Physics
If the tie persists, marks obtained in Physics will be considered next.

  4. Fewer Incorrect Responses in Biology
Candidates with a better ratio of correct to incorrect answers in Biology will be prioritized.

  5. Fewer Incorrect Responses in Chemistry
If required, Chemistry accuracy will be taken into account.

  6. Fewer Incorrect Responses in Physics
Preference will be given to candidates with higher accuracy in Physics.

  7. Age Factor
If all subject-based criteria fail to break the tie, the older candidate (by date of birth) will be given preference.

  8. Application Number (Ascending Order)
As a final resort, candidates will be ranked according to the ascending order of their NEET 2025 application numbers.
