NTSE (National Talent Search Examination) is a National Level scholarship program in India conducted by NCERT to identify and nurture young talented students. The exam was started back in 1963 with an objective to find the young talents and to encourage them for further studies. Scholarship is provided every month to the talented students for the entire Academic Career. Students studying in Class X are eligible to appear for the NTSE exam. As it is organized by NCERT, it is widely known as the most prestigious exam at high school level in India.
The NTSE exam is conducted in two stages, in the first stage the selection will be done by states and union territories through a written examination. Each state and union territory has been allotted a quota to recommend a specific number of students for the NTSE Stage-II examination.
