NTSE exams have two stages. Stage 1 examination is at the state level and is held in all the states and Union Territories of India. All the students must qualify it in order to go for stage 2. The student who qualifies for stage 1 is eligible to appear for the stage 2 exam. Persistence practice of previous year question papers can help you score well as well can improve your efficiency. Students need to understand the question types and exam patterns to score better marks. Both the stages test the mental aptitude and scholastic aptitude tests. Both the stages consist of papers having 100 questions each and there is no negative marking.

NTSE Stage 1 is the exam that only Students perusing Class X are eligible for it. States/UTs conduct NTSE Stage 1 and Stage 2 exams in which schools are located.
Students, who successfully qualify for Stage 1 are eligible for Stage 2. No domicile proof is needed and the candidate should be under the age of 18. And also the student should not be employed.
NTSE will be conducted in two stages:
NTSE Stage 1 exam - November 2, 3 & 17, 2019.
NTSE stage 2 exam - May 10, 2020.
Candidates who qualify for Stage 1 will be called for stage 2.
